The Coal People exhibition took place in the framework of International festival of photography in Pingyao, China. More than fifty works were included at the exhibition curated by Irina Chmyreva.
About this exhibition:
Photographs from The People of Coal project were first on display in a unique Red UFO show space at OZ Mall, Krasnodar, during the International Festival of Photography PhotoVisa in 2016. The exhibition attracted many people including Italian guests of the Festival. As a result, it was presented at the professional photography forum FIOF in Orvieto (Italy) in April 2017 and traveled across the country during the summer. In September 2017, The People of Coal became the capstone of The Glory of Russia—Coal Miners exhibition which was timed to coincide with the Miner's Day celebration (inherited by Russia from the USSR) and took place in the Central House of Artists in Moscow. It was sponsored by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK).
In 2018, The Glory of Russia—Coal Miners exhibition will tour throughout Russia, China and other countries of the world. Its catalog has been published already and The People of Coal photo book devoted to the three-year long project is on the way.
