Ilya Ivankin and Yana Vasilieva solo shows at the XIX Pingyao International Photography Festival

Two Russian authors were invited by the director of international programs of Pingyao festival of photography. In 2018 Liu XiaoXia became an expert at PhotoVisa portfolio review in Krasnodar, Russia. Works by Ilya Ivankin and Yana Vasilieva drew her special attention and in 2019 their solo shows were presented within the framework of the XIX International Pingyao Festival of Photography.

Works by Ilya Ivankin were put in the white wall space with difficult layout. Several perpendicular walls were constructed to make illusion of labyrinth. The next room for Yana Vasilieva’s works was absolutely black and had a clear square plan. Only one shelf 3 meters long according to the curators’s idea was the main detail in the space.
